10 Year Reunion

While this is a little late in getting posted, I'd like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Laurie and Kristen for all the hard work they put in to making the reunion happen. Everyone I spoke to had a lot of fun, and I am personally looking forward to what Laurie and Kristen have in store for us in 2009.

Reunion Pictures

While wandering around at the reunion, I took a few pictures. They're posted in a relatively simple album page right now, but I'll be adding captions and such later. I know several of you were taking pictures as well. If you'd like to share them with the rest of the class, and your pics are available in an electronic format, e-mail them to me and I'll put them up.

2004 Memory Book

The 2004 Memory Book published for our 10 year reunion has been posted to this site. I've converted it into a PDF format so anyone with access to one of the several PDF viewers out there can read it. For security purposes, I have removed all personal contact information from the book. I will, however, give that information to any class member who requests it from me. Download the Memory Book (about 5MB).

Kathyrn Morse, [kmorse92@rochester.rr.com], a Health Inspector from Geneva, NY, updated her contact information.(06 December 2006)

Michael Wright, [mcwright75@hotmail.com], from Liverpool, NY, writes (13 February 2005):

I am currently a Federal Police Officer with U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Syracuse, NY.  Living in Liverpool, NY. Daughter Katie is 10 years old and is in 5th grade at Herkimer Elem. School. Still not married, although am seeing a wonderful lady named Stacey. Look forward to hearing from anyone out there who I did or didn't see at the reunion. Email me at mcwright75@hotmail.com. Hope to hear from you soon! Take care.
Ryan Lane, [rjlane@juno.com], from Coxsackie, NY, writes (18 September 2004):
Well it's only been three years since my last update this time. I'm getting better! Not much has changed here. We did end up getting our second fawn colored Pug but he ended up with the name Lewis. We waited until after we had him this time to name him and he turned out to be such a wimp we couldn't name him Apollo Creed or Mr. T. like I wanted to. Oh well, the name Lewis will have to do. Needless to say our other Pug Rocky keeps Lewis in his place. I still have the same job and I still enjoy it for the most part. I have a lot of freedom in it but at the same time a lot of stress and responsibility. I'm sure you can all relate. In my free time I've really learned to enjoy the outdoors (even more than I used to) and travel. My favorite yearly trip is our trip to Canada Walleye fishing. We go in early October so the leaves look great, the temp. is nice and cool, and most importantly the fish are huge and fight great!!!! This next part is going to sound a little bit weird to some people so bare with me. A couple years ago I decided to develop my artistic ability and take up the art of taxidermy as a hobby. I mainly do my own stuff and some work for family and friends. This is where things got a little out of hand. People started to really like my work and urged me to enter competition. Yes, they really do have taxidermy competitions. I, like many other people, like to think of taxidermy as an art form. In competition it's more than a head stuck on the wall. The mounts there truly are works of art with the good majority of the score being based on artistic ability and creativity. Well anyway, for the last three years I competed in several different states and at the last show in New York, I won First Place, Best of Category and Taxidermists Choice. This sends me to Illinois next year to compete at the World Championships where I will compete against people from the U.S., Europe, Australia, Russia, etc.. Sound pretty funny eh? I know, I know. When I was walking through the halls of Ilion High School (In my Other Life) this isn't something I would ever have guessed I'd be doing either. So that's about it for me. Take care and feel free to send an e-mail rjlane@juno.com
Sean Fitzgerald, [seaneo@optonline.net], from Long Island, NY, writes (31 July 2004):
I am currently a certified professional Air traffic controller for the NY Tracon. I have been for 3 years. I have to say that my job is the greatest, and its a pleasure to wake up everyday and enjoy what you do. I recently purchesed a house on Long Island, and am enjoying being a home owner. I am still not married, but an enjoying the interview process!!! My sister recently was married and waiting on becoming an Uncle and all that responsibility. As for my life, I can't be happier. My family and friends are great, and I am making the most of my opportunities. I would like to hear from classmates, to see how they turned out. Hope everyone had fulfilled their goals and made something out of themselves.
Tracy Hatch, [tracyhatch@hotmail.com], from Fort Bragg, NC, writes (19 July 2004):
I am a Captain in the US Army currently stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. My husband, Michael, and I have one son, Andrew James Giordano, who will be 2 in September and we have a second boy on the way who is due in November.
Wendy Everson, [wendyeve2@aol.com], updated her e-mail address (22 June 2004).

Thomas Jennings, [jennit@keytool.org], from West Lafayette, Indiana writes (24 May 2004):
As I've posted here before, I've been insanely busy for the past couple of years. When I last updated this site, I was working on the Alcator C-Mod Tokamak fusion research project at MIT. About a year ago, I was getting somewhat bored with research physics when I was offered an opportunity to study advanced spacecraft propulsion systems at Purdue University's Aero/Astro Engineering department. I accepted the offer and left Cambridge, Mass. for sunny West Lafayette, Indiana. Since then I've found Astronautical Engineering to be an interesting subject and an exciting challenge, although it's taking some time to get used to the way engineers think.

Right now I'm actually on my first real vacation in nearly three years and I am spending the time in good-old Ilion trying to close out several long-overdue personal projects before I head back to Indiana in mid-June. As I mentioned above, I'm planning on implementing some major changes to the site, so keep your updates coming in and feel free to make suggestions for page additions/features.

Kimberly Johnston, [kimmyjjj@msn.com], writes (4 May 2004):

Joshua Freddoso [jdfreddo@us.ibm.com], from Latham, New York writes (1 April 2003):

Hey all. Almost forgot about this website. Anywho, I've traveled all the way from CT to the exciting Albany area. It's not bad, lot better than CT. Still working for IBM, but decided to go over to the management side. I'm living in Latham now, which is just outside of downtown Albany (about a 20 dollar cab). A little different then taking a cab over to Nean'ers. Well, that's it for now, things are good. If you're in the area, drop me a line. Go SU......"

John Springer [dinger276@yahoo.com], from Vernon, Connecticut writes (11 February 2003):

"What's going on everyone? Just remember that this thing is still out there and my stuff is a little old. I'm now currently living in Vernon, CT and working for UTC Fuel Cells (a United Technologies Division) as a Mechanical, Methods and Developmental Engineer. That's right kids, I'm an engineer for the stuff that good old G. W. Bush pushed in his State o' the Union (Hydrogen powerd cars and such). Go figure. Things are going well for the most part with me, but this state sucks and leans on being over rated. Next move is in the Air Force as a Flight Test Engineer (unless this place gives me a raise). That's about it I guess. Feel free to drop me a line. PS - also no reported children. Later, -springer"

Old Class News [pre-31 January 2002]...

Sabrina Beach, an intranet programmer from Rochester, NY, e-mail sabrina_beach@yahoo.com writes (January 31, 2002):
    Still truckin' along, thanks!

For those who *really* care how I'm doing, I'm an intranet programmer at Frontier Communications. I also maintain two websites on a volunteer basis, and have been doing subcontracting jobs for a little while now in the hopes that someday I will never have to work for someone else.

My partner and I have been together for 5 years now come April. We plan on buying a home for our two rescued cats (and us!) sometime in the next 5 years, in the meantime, they have to put up with our comfy apartment and strange behavior (like griping about noisy neighbors).

I'm liking life and GOSH! but it's good to have escaped from Ilion!

Erik Christenson, an Engineer from Tuscon, AZ, e-mail Edch@deainc.com writes (January 9, 2002):
Maybe I'm just getting old, but I get really nostalgic reading this website. Sorry, but I think of John Springer and Brian Decker as trumpet players and guys who made mocking certain teachers an art, not engineers. Thomas Jennings a physicist - never mind, thats exactly how I imagined him. I don't even want to know how half of you picture me. Things are going well for me here, I'm now working as a designer at a civil engineering firm here in Tucson, Arizona, and hopefully am well on my way to becoming a Professional Engineer. I spent some time working as an archaeologist, (you know, Indiana Jones). It was a lot of fun, I've seen more desert, dragged a wheelbarrow and shovel up more mountains, gotten pricked by more cactus, and gotten more sunburned that the average Golden Bomber I'm sure. I got to work on several excavations including one in Tombstone. However, I decided that being able to pay for rent and things like that had a certain value, so civil engineering it is. In May, I got married to a wonderful woman who keeps my life in some semblance of working order, and recently we bought an adobe home (mud hut) in a historical section of Tucson. Its even got cactus growing in the front yard! Sorry world, but little Christensons are on the horizon. Don't worry, I'll warn all y'all when they get here.

Marcia Eldredge, a Physical Therapist from Albany, NY, e-mail meldredge3@juno.com writes (December 28, 2001):

Ryan Lane, a Sales Manager from Coxsackie, NY, e-mail rjlane@juno.com writes (December 21, 2001):

I'm sure everyone has been reading my previous and only message I've left on the web page of "I hope to see more people from '94 signing on" and saying to themselves, that was in 1997, where the heck is this guy? Well here I am! I'm currently living in Coxsackie, NY, It's about 25 minutes south of Albany. I graduated way back in May of 1999 with a B?, wait let me go look at my diploma. Oh yes, a BS in Business administration and a concentration in marketing. You ask me what does all that get you? It gets you a job as the Northeastern Regional Sales Manager for a paper company based out of CT. Some of the perks are they send me places like Las Vegas, Tennessee (WOW), Kentucky (YIPEE), Orlando, Phoenix, and Miami Beach (South Beach). When I'm not on the road I get to work out of my house in my underwear. Well that's my job, here's a bit of my personnal life. I got married in October of 2000, we bought a house this past August, and we have a son named Rocky ( a brown Pug that looks just like Sylvester Stallone) and we are expecting another son in the next few months. It's gonna be another Pug and we're gonna name it Apollo Creed (or maybe Mr. T). Well anyway, that's all for now and I'll write again in another 4 years and maybe by then I'll have a web-page too.
Heidi Austin, a Secretary from Ilion, NY, e-mail hottan26@yahoo.com writes (November 10, 2001):

Melissa Keddell, from Cary, NC, e-mail mkeddell@hotmail.com writes (November 4, 2001):

God has it really been a year since I last updated everyone....funny how so much can change in so little time. Well surprise, surprise...I'm a mother. I have a little (well not so little), beautiful boy, he is a month old today, therefore he was born on October 4th. He weighed in at 9lbs-7ozs, and at 22 in, so yes he is a strong little guy. For the meantime I am a stay at home mother which suites me just fine. I am still residing with my better half in Cary. If anyone would like to drop me a line you may do so at mkeddell@hotmail.com.

Katie Morse, a Health Inspector, e-mail morse_kat@hotmail.com writes (August 16, 2001):

It will be an online program offered through the University of Wisconsin. I can't wait to get back to school! Things are still great in VA. Hope to see some of you as you pass through. Thomas Jennings writes (October 19, 2000):

I guess I should update my own information on this page. In 1998 I finished my undergraduate education at RPI. I stayed there for another two years and finished my Master's Degree in Physics. After graduating last spring and teaching college physics for the summer, I moved to Boston where I am a graduate student in the physics department at MIT. Right now I'm about four years (hopefully) away from my Ph.D and I'm working on a project known as the Alcator C-Mod. The Alcator is a tokamak (basically a big donut) designed to contain high temperature plasmas for fusion research. Every day I get to work with this machine that, at its core, is 1000 times hotter than the center of the sun and carries 5.3 million amps of electric current. Fun stuff. :) There are some cool pictures here, including my favorite.

Anyway, if you would like to update your entry on this page, or would like one created for you, please feel free to send me e-mail at jennit@acm.rpi.edu.
